Atlas drops anchor in Ajax, Ontario

Atlas Logistics celebrated the grand opening of its new 3PL facility in Ajax, Ontario. And what a celebration it was! More than 140 invited guests and dignitaries attended, along with 100 of our employees and their families.

Ajax—a dedicated site for distribution of perishable and dry grocery product for the Loblaw Company, Canada’s leading grocery chain—is a magnificent 875,000 sq ft state-of-the-art building on 125 acres of land. It boasts 223 dock doors, 32 banana ripening rooms, and ranges in temperature on the perishable side from .5 degrees C in the meat chamber to 12.7 degrees C in the dry perishable chamber.

Annual cases shipped will tip the scales at 114 million once the facility is fully functional. Ajax will service 150 mainstream stores, covering several of the Loblaw banners, as well as an additional 100 stores for specialty products like meat and seafood.
