Safety

It’s In Everything We Do

At VersaCold, safety is our top priority – in our workplaces and on the road. Health and safety is embedded in our culture and reflected in everything we do.

VersaCold is committed to maintaining a hazard-free workplace to keep both our employees and visitors safe. We focus on accident prevention and continuous improvement that permeates all aspects of our company.

Safety comes from the top down. Our senior leaders are committed to instilling a “safety first” culture. Our goal is to have an injury-free workplace, and we will achieve this goal by continually investing in safety training, building strong workplace safety committees and diligently reviewing all accident and injury details. We look to improve every day.

By being the industry leader in health and safety initiatives we will solidify our position as the most forward thinking company in the temperature sensitive supply chain industry.

Food Safety

What It’s All About

Nothing else we do counts unless we can deliver food safety and cold chain integrity. Our investment in a dedicated Food Safety and Cold Chain Quality Assurance Team ensures the integrity, quality and freshness of your products and the health and wellness of the families who enjoy them.

The team is responsible for the development and implementation of Food Safety and Quality strategies in alignment with Quality Management systems including Global Food Safety Initiatives (GFSI) standards. Our Vaughan, Ontario and Lachine, Quebec locations have achieved certification to BRC Global Standard for Storage and Distribution – one of only two operators of temperature-sensitive facilities in Canada to achieve this distinction – and four more of our facilities are currently going through the process.

Other highlights of our commitment to food safety include:

  • Independent third-party audits of our Quality and Food Safety systems in all facilities
  • Metrics and reporting
  • Effective Traceability and Recall Program to SKU level
  • HACCP Certification with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) in all our facilities
  • Compliance with FDA, CFIA and all pertinent regulatory requirements
  • PIP, CTPAT and other certifications/registration

No other supply chain company in Canada can match our capability in this area. There are no higher standards than our own.
