Accounts Receivable Representative - 1 Year Contract

Location: Richmond, BC

JOB SUMMARY

This role provides a variety of accounts receivable functions. Key duties will include the timely collection of accounts while maintaining superior customer relationships.  The role is responsible for meeting collection goals, conducting and documenting timely and effective collection activities, following up on accounts in various stages of arrears, and minimizing DSO. The incumbent is also responsible for identifying risky accounts and scheduling follow ups for payment arrangements. 
 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Making daily contact with customers, developing relationships, confirming payment schedules and amounts or determining reasons for slow or short payments to ensure collection of outstanding invoiced amounts
  • Maintaining comprehensive collection notes on all customer contact and document files regarding outstanding issues
  • Scheduling and making follow up calls to identify and solve any payment issues
  • Liaising with VersaCold management to obtain collaboration in the collection effort and reporting on receivables outstanding
  • Assisting internal and external customers with inquiries on accounts
  • Accumulating and providing to clients any supporting documentation as required
  • Reviewing the detailed aging of assigned accounts on a weekly basis
  • Providing weekly updates on key accounts
  • Interfacing with VersaCold departments and centers to obtain their assistance in the collection process as necessary, including follow up on discrepancies on claims with the Claims Coordinator
  • Coordinating and fulfilling internal procedures as well as achieving assigned Accounts Receivable monthly, quarterly and yearly goals and objectives
  • Reconciling client accounts upon request
  • Creating spreadsheets showing activity for customers
  • Creating reports to keep Sales and Operations informed of accounts in arrears
  • Following VersaCold credit and collection policies; may from time to time request credit reports to determine or update credit limits on client accounts
  • Preparing write off reports for approval
  • Sending Account Statements to clients on a monthly basis
  • Performing other duties as required
     

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1 - 3 years of accounts receivable experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • High school graduation with related post-secondary training and/or advanced accounting and business courses
  • Intermediate or Advanced Excel skills required
  • Proven experience providing a high level of customer service both internally and externally in a positive and professional manner
  • Quick learner who is not afraid to ask questions
  • Experience using Epicor, Great Plains and Word an asset
  • Working knowledge of French, written and verbal, an asset
  • Experience in a similar industry would be an asset (i.e. refrigerated warehousing, 3rd party logistics, transportation)
  • Solid communication skills – both verbal and written; ability to communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment

Warehouse Person

Location: Lower Mainland - various locations

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the timely and accurate receipt, unloading, storing, order picking, loading and shipment of all product within the warehouse according to company procedures. Ensure adherence to predetermined customer service, quality and safety standards. Operation of material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, shrink wrap machines etc. Accurate preparation of required paperwork and conscientious of customer service.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Receiving

Receive incoming product through dock doors, verifying product description, size per unit, quantity, temperatures and any damage upon receipt. Move product from dock to warehouse with forklift and assign location or store on dock for cross docking. Stack product in racks. (Warehouse temperatures approx. -4F to -10F) Note location on paperwork.

Shipping

Pick all orders by lot number checking product description for accuracy. Stack product on dock or load on trailers as required. Obtain driver's signature for received product.

Housekeeping

Clean and brush dock and warehouse floors and inspection rooms as per quality standards. Chip ice where required and maintain aisles clear.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

High School Graduation
 

Experience

1-2 years in a warehouse environment


Skills

Must be able to read and count accurately, do simple math and write legibly. Must be able to operate a forklift. Must be able to work in cold temperatures for extended periods of time. Ability to follow directions is essential.
