Human Resources Manager, Quebec

Location: Cote de Liesse Facility

JOB SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Manager, Quebec supports a range of human resources programs and services including: recruitment,
training and development, compensation administration, employee relations, and labour relations. Develops processes, materials and tools for Quebec facilities that support core human resources programs.
 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Strategic Planning: Develops and executes strategic plan to achieve the short and long term goals for HR in Quebec, in alignment with overall HR objectives for the company.

Recruitment: Manages full-cycle recruitment for Quebec facilities. Creates plan to address seasonal hiring requirements. Works collaboratively with facility leaders throughout the recruitment and selection process. Builds relationships with recruitment agencies, universities, and other external recruiting sources.

Employee and Labour Relations: Acts as a resource, providing guidance to all management and supervisory staff on interpretation and administration of HR programs and policies. Provides advice on conflict resolution and disciplinary actions. Ensures the consistent interpretation and administration of the collective agreements. Attends grievance proceedings and negotiations as appropriate.

Project Management: Project manages complex, one-time or limited time HR initiatives/projects including scope, planning, communication, implementation, budget management, and measurement.

Compensation: Conducts periodic research within local labour market to determine competitive hourly wage rates. Supports the annual compensation review process. Oversees payroll and benefits program and responds to general inquiries.

Training and Development: Supports the implementation of company-wide and local training and development within the province. Assess training needs within the province and works with the Manager, Organizational Development to implement programs.

Performance Management: Supports the performance management process within the province. Provides ongoing support, advice and coaching for leaders and employees on performance management processes such as establishing goals, performance issues, evaluations, etc.

Leadership: Supervises and coaches the HR Coordinator, Quebec. Coaches leadership team and employees to effectively resolve workplace issues and manage change.

Other: Ensures compliance with relevant laws and regulations; acts decisively to make adjustment where required. Works collaboratively with other areas of the business to ensure the effective implementation and application of HR services and initiatives. Sources and manages day-to-day relationships with external consultants, service providers, etc. Executes other HR-related programs and special projects as required for the province or as mandated by Corporate Human Resources.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong generalist background with 3 – 5 years HR experience at the management level, ideally in a unionized environment with multiple work sites.
• Post-secondary degree in human resources or a related discipline. CHRP designation preferred.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to build collaborative relationships at all levels in an organization.
• Sound analytical, problem solving and decision making skills with an ability to understand complex human resources issues.
• Solid business acumen, detail orientation and customer-service focus.
• Highly organized with strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple assignments.
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
• Supports and champions organizational change.
• Demonstrates a positive and professional attitude.
• Takes initiative, is proactive in their work and is self-motivated.
• Able to work well as a member of a team and work independently under general direction. Supervision experience preferred.
• Solid knowledge of relevant legislation and its application in the workplace, as well as current trends and issues relevant to human resources.
• High integrity and demonstrated ability to deal professionally with confidential information and sensitive employee relations issues.
• Intermediate to advanced ability in Microsoft Office programs. Experience with databases and HRIS an asset.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, facilitation and coaching skills.
• Fluent in both English and French, written and spoken.
• Knowledge of payroll an asset.

Inventory Control Coordinator

Location: Walker Facility

JOB SUMMARY:      

               
Responsible for all paperwork and procedures necessary to ensure an efficient and accurate inventory management system.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Maintain and update inventory records.
Reconcile inventory to book records and make adjustments as required.
Coordinate the annual physical inventory procedures.
Work with the appropriate people to implement and maintain a loss prevention program.
Make recommendations to the Inventory Control Operations Manager on programs to improve the management of inventory.
Plan and implement a recoup program to ensure all damaged/defective product is accounted for and properly handled by either dumping, salvaging, or returning to stock. Maintain records to accurately track recouped product and return saleable products to stock.
Supervise the inventory quality and accuracy assurance programs, including weekly and monthly reports.
Develop a program to audit returns and move returned product to its proper location. When necessary, process proper documentation to generate a prompt credit transaction. Take appropriate action on product that is not in saleable condition.
Perform weekly cycle count and make system adjustments as necessary.
Develop a program to maintain tight security over the inventory. Ensure that only authorized personnel have access to inventory records. Maintain accurate inventory records to help facilitate shortage detection.
Develops all necessary reports and documentation to facilitate accurate inventory counts including records of all audits, counts, and adjustments. Complete and issue all necessary records and reports including filing invoices and maintaining customer records in a timely and accurate fashion.
Communicate with customers regarding timing of physical inventories. Work with Customer Service Representatives and Operations Supervisors to establish cut-off dates and liase with Inventory Control Operations Manager.
Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience

High school graduation with related post-secondary training and/or advanced courses; completion of specialized training or certification requiring up to 1 year of education; 3 - 5 years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge/Skills

Operations Supervisor

Location: Walker Facility

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the daily management of an operational unit, including supervising the activities of personnel, making recommendations to the Facility Manager on operations, ensuring efficient and safe operation of materials handling equipment, ensuring safety policies are followed, and monitoring customer service.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Major Responsibilities


Supervise the checking of incoming and outgoing freight for proper counts, damage and codes.
Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all materials handling equipment.
Participate in establishing work schedules and ensure that they are correctly implemented and that jobs are assigned effectively and completed properly.
Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion.
Process returns.
Make recommendations to Facility Manager to improve operations.
Ensure all safety procedures, policies, legislation and regulations are followed, by reviewing warehouse operations to ensure warehouse is neat, secure and well organized, and that damage to product, equipment and facility is prevented.
Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with all customers.
Audit operations to ensure service standards are being met.
Ensure that customer orders are picked and shipped in a timely fashion within prescribed cost levels.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; scheduling, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; conducting staff meetings; addressing complaints and resolving problems (with the assistance of their manager as appropriate).
Perform other duties as required.

Superviseur des opérations

Location: Montreal, PQ - Cote De Liesse Facility

RESPONSABILITÉS:

Responsable de la gestion quotidienne d'une équipe d’employés d’entrepôt comprenant la supervision des activités du personnel, faire des recommandations au directeur sur les opérations, voir au  fonctionnement efficace et sécuritaire des équipements de manutention et s'assurer que les politiques de sécurité sont suivies.

Principales responsabilités:

  • Superviser le contrôle des marchandises entrant et sortant pour les comptes appropriés.
  • Assurer le fonctionnement efficace et sécuritaire de tous les équipements de manutention.
  • Participer à l'établissement des horaires de travail et de s'assurer qu'ils sont correctement mis en œuvre et que les tâches de travail sont distribué de manière efficace et exécuter correctement.
  • Compléter les formulaires et rapports en temps opportun et précis.
  • Processus de retour.
  • Faire des recommandations au directeur pour améliorer les opérations.
  • S'assurer que toutes les procédures de sécurité, des politiques, des lois et règlements sont respectés, en passant en revue les opérations d'entreposage pour assurer entrepôt est propre, sûr et bien organisé, et que des dommages au produit, des équipements et des installations est évitée.
  • Maintenir une relation professionnelle et courtoise avec tous les clients.
  • S’assurer que les normes de service sont respectées.
  • S’assure que les commandes des clients sont cueillies et livrés rapidement à des niveaux de coûts prescrits.
  • Effectuer des responsabilités de supervision, conformément aux politiques de l'organisation et des lois applicables. Les responsabilités incluent entrevues, l'embauche et la formation des employés; ordonnancement, la planification, l'attribution des tâches de travail, évaluation de la performance; discipliner les employés, mener des réunions du personnel; traitement des plaintes et la résolution des problèmes (avec l'aide de leur directeur, selon le cas).
  • Effectuer d'autres tâches selon les besoins.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 ans d'expérience de travail connexe, ou combinaison équivalente d'études et d'expérience.
